ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Friday is Special Shape Day and Kids Day at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta – and that is only the tip of the festivities for the seventh day.
Kids can grab a goodie bag from the Chick Fil-A booth, starting at 4:30 a.m. KOB 4’s Steve Stucker will be out at the park, doing live hits for us from the field in classic Balloon-atic fashion.
Balloons are set to launch at 7 a.m. with the Special Shape Rodeo. First, Dawn Patrol is set to go up at 6 a.m. to see how conditions are.
On the ground, they’re set to have remote control balloons, entertainment, chainsaw carving, skydiving, a balloon glow, fireworks and more.
Here is the schedule for Friday, Oct. 10:
- 4:30 a.m. Kids’ Day Goodie Bag Distribution Begins (with KOB 4’s Steve Stucker, say hello!)
- 6 a.m. Dawn Patrol
- 7 a.m. Special Shape Rodeo
- 7 a.m. Ascension – Balloon Launch
- 7:30 a.m. Fiesta de Los Globitos (Remote control balloons exhibition)
- 8 a.m. Fly In Competition Begins
- 8 a.m., 3 p.m. Chainsaw Carving Exhibition
- 9 a.m., 5:15 p.m. Entertainment at the Main Street Stage
- 10 a.m. Chainsaw Carving Auction
- 5 p.m., 7:30 p.m. Team Fastrax Skydiving
- 6:30 p.m. Special Shape Glowdeo
- 7:45 p.m. Drone Light Show
- 8 p.m. AfterGlow Fireworks Show
