The Chiefs, through a brutal early-season schedule, really needed this win to get back to 3-3 with Rashee Rice’s return pending.

It’s difficult to think about K.C. being on the playoff bubble. But if the team had slipped to 2-4, the reality is even with recent improved play, it would’ve been just slightly better than a coin flip to make the postseason with a challenging slate remaining.

Now, the Chiefs can take a bit of a breather. They remain just a game back in the AFC West standings of the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos, and that’s with seven of their eight divisional games still ahead of them.

K.C. had played better than its record to this point, but eventually, a positive result was needed. The Chiefs got that Sunday night.
