Milliken & Co. announced the latest generation of its Millad clarifiers, the ClearX 9000 clarifier for polypropylene (PP)Milliken Starts Production of New PP Clarifier Plant. Millad ClearX 9000 was developed to deliver transparency at reduced loading levels in food packaging, home storage and medical applications.

Reduced loading levels can decrease material handling needs, storage requirements and freight costs. Data presented by Milliken show a 17 times reduction in migration in olive oil when compared with Millad NX 8000.
The technology offers improved compatibility with other Millad clarifying agents, giving producers the flexibility to optimize formulations for both virgin and postconsumer recycled PP. Milliken data shows reduced haze effect in blends of Millad NX 9000 with Millad NX 8000 when compared with blends of Millad NX 8000 and Millad 3988.
Millad ClearX 9000 has FDA approval for conditions of use A-J, opening a wide range of possibilities for food-contact applications.
