Sports Seriously
The Jacksonville Jaguars suffered a lopsided 35-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in London on Sunday. They also lost their top wide receiver to an injury at the end of the defeat.
That would be Brian Thomas Jr., who suffered an apparent arm injury after being bumped while running a route late in the fourth quarter.
Thomas didn’t appear to be hit very hard by Rams cornerback Cobie Durant when his injury occurred. However, the second-year receiver immediately grabbed his right shoulder in pain and required medical attention on the field.
Eventually, Thomas was able to walk off the field under his own power, though he did so gingerly while seeking not to move his injured right arm much.
Thomas did not return to the field with just a couple of minutes remaining in regulation and the Jaguars trailing by 28 points.
Jacksonville did not provide an update about Thomas’ status before the game ended, nor did Jaguars coach Liam Coen deliver additional information about the 23-year-old’s injury during his postgame news conference.
As such, it isn’t clear how long Thomas’ injury may sideline him. The Jaguars have a bye in Week 8 but if the wide-out needs to miss time beyond that, Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown and Parker Washington would all be in line for increased workloads.
