Men’s Soccer Shuts Out UW-River Falls in 3-0 Victory

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s soccer team battled the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons on the road Tuesday night in a non-conference contest. Three Gusties scored while the defense shut out the Falcons in a 3-0 victory.
 
Kieran Mahan put the Gusties on the board in the 37th minute with what would end up being the game winner.
 
Joe Flory doubled the lead for Gustavus in the second half, scoring in the 51st minute.
 
Sam Kaeding scored the third Gustie goal in the 77th minute with Rivaldo Pena assisting.
 
Gustavus outshot the Falcons 15-8 while their defense held UW-River Falls to just one shot on goal in the shutout victory.
 
Up next for Gustavus is a return to Saint Peter for a conference home game against the Carleton College Knights on Saturday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m.
