Blue Jays’ George Springer leaves Game 3 of World Series with apparent injury

The Toronto Blue Jays’ Game 7 hero in the American League Championship Series appears to have gone down with an injury.
Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer left Game 3 of the World Series after grabbing at his side as the result of taking a hard swing in the seventh inning.
Springer took a hard cut at a Justin Wrobleski fastball low in zone, then exhibited visible discomfort as he reached for his oblique area and waved to the dugout for the trainer to come out.
The veteran outfielder seemed to immediately be aware that he was unable to continue, gingerly walking to meet manager John Schneider and assistant athletic trainer Voon Chong midway between the dugout and home plate before walking off the field.
Springer, 36, has had an exceptional post-season, hitting for a .259/.339/.593 slash line with nine RBIs and four home runs, including the decisive three-run shot in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
