Burglars dressed as construction workers steal more than $3 million in jewelry from home in Jamaica Hills, Queens

NEW YORK — Police are searching for a group of suspects accused of breaking into a home and stealing more than $3 million in jewelry in Queens, New York.

The burglary happened in the afternoon on Oct. 16 at a home in the city’s Jamaica Hills section.

According to the NYPD, three men dressed as construction workers drove to the home and broke in by forcibly opening a rear door. Once inside, police say the suspects removed a safe that had jewelry with an estimated value of $3.2 million.

The burglary happened on the afternoon of Oct. 16 in Jamaica Hills, Queens.

The suspects then fled the scene in a blue Hyundai Elantra. No one was injured during the burglary.

Authorities are now trying to determine what led up to the burglary. Investigators say that the victim is a jeweler and that the burglary was likely targeted.
