Will Kirk has opened up about a change in his “priorities” after a major family move ended his 39-year stint living in the capital. Will, best known for his role as an antique furniture restorer on the BBC’s hit show, The Repair Shop, shared details in a recent interview about his family life and how he’d “finally” landed a “bricks and mortar house”.

The London-born craftsman, who shares two children – a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son – with his wife, Polly Snowdon, revealed that his home is now a “sanctuary” where he can retreat from his busy work life.

His young family includes a daughter, who was born in July 2022, and a son born in October 2024 (both names have been kept private). Meanwhile, with all of these parental responsibilities, Will has admitted to a change in “priorities”.

Will told House Beautiful magazine: “I spend so much of the year working away and filming, so home is my sanctuary. We’ve been living in our new house for about a year and a half.”

He continued: “We were in a small flat in London for about seven years and, finally, we’ve got our own bricks and mortar house in Surrey. I literally love my life now.

“I spent 39 years in London and I thought that’s where everything was, but having kids changes your priorities. Now we’ve got more space and fresher air.”

He added that his home was becoming more “important” and is a place where he can spend time with his family and “switch off” from his work life. In addition, it seems Will hasn’t ruled out expanding his family further.

Speaking to gardening legend Alan Titchmarsh on his show, Love Your Weekend, earlier this year, Will chatted about his family and how he can now “sort of finish at a reasonable time” and spend time with them.

Prior to his role on The Repair Shop, Will would work “seven days a week, all hours”, but he confessed that being able to enjoy this more balanced life with his family is “really important”.

He said: “Back in my workshop, before The Repair Shop days, I’d be working seven days a week, all hours. Whereas now, I get to sort of finish at a reasonable time and get back to spend time with the family, which is really important.”

It was at this point, writes Hello!, that Will dropped a massive hint about his prospective third child. Indeed, he noted that, at present, he had “got it right”, but he suggested that one thing could change all that.

He said: “At the moment, I have got it right. Until the next child comes along!”

You can next catch The Repair Shop on BBC One on Wednesday, October 29, from 8pm to 9pm.
