Why Shane Bieber is pitching for Blue Jays in World Series Game 7 extra innings

There’s nothing better than this.
World Series Game 7 in extra innings? Let’s just play forever.
The Toronto Blue Jays certainly are planning for the long haul. They’ve got a starting pitcher, Shane Bieber, on for the 11th inning.
This is what they got him from Cleveland at the trade deadline for. Well, maybe not specifically for the 11th inning of a World Series game, but for a big moment like this.
And now here he is.

Why is Shane Bieber pitching?
The Blue Jays trust Bieber more than any of their remaining relief pitchers.
He also can potentially give multiple innings of length to the proceedings. He did just come back from Tommy John surgery over the summer, but Bieber has seemed healthy, and it’s the last game of the season, so why not let him keep it rolling?
Bieber has a 3.57 ERA so far in the postseason.
The Blue Jays are hoping he can lower that over an inning, or two, or three, in hopes of having time to get the offense a run and walk the World Series off.
