Bengals vs. Bears NFL Week 9 preview with Kelsey Conway
Bengals Beat Reporter Kelsey Conway breaks down the upcoming Bengals vs. Bears game at Paycor Stadium on Sunday November 2, 2025.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine suffered a right ankle injury during the second quarter of the team’s NFL Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears at Paycor Stadium.
Perine stayed down at the end of a kick return, but jogged off the field under his own power. His leg appeared to get caught underneath him on a tackle.
Trainers looked at Perine’s lower leg on the sideline after he jogged off. The Bengals announced Perine’s return as doubtful.
“That’s a bad man right there,” CBS analyst Adam Archuleta said during the broadcast. “He is a tough, tough guy.”
Perine suffered a right thumb injury late in the second quarter of the team’s NFL Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium. Perine fumbled on the Bengals’ final offensive snap of the half.
The Bengals signed Perine in March. Perine played the 2024 season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Perine played for the Bengals for parts of four seasons from 2019 to 2022. Perine played in 54 games over four seasons with Cincinnati.
Denver released Perine in August 2024. Perine signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Broncos in March 2023. He played in 17 games for Denver in 2023, with 238 rushing yards and career bests in receptions (50) and receiving yards (455).
