Strictly Come Dancing fans have said Balvinder Sopal’s latest stint in the dance-off is ‘criminal’ after they were left issuing the same demand.

The EastEnders star and her professional dance partner Julian Caillon were among the 10 remaining couples taking to the dance floor during week six of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday night (November 1).

During Strictly’s Halloween special, Balvinder and Julian performed their rumba to Stay by Shakespears Sister, for which they were awarded a very respectable 28 out of a possible 40 from the judges for the routine.

However, following the public vote, it wasn’t enough to keep the pair out of the bottom two, marking the third time Balvinder and Julian have had to fight for their place in the competition.

During Sunday’s (November 2) results show, the pair went up against model and actress Ellie Goldstein and her professional dance partner Vito Coppola.

Both couples performed their Halloween week routines again, including Ellie and Vito with their magic-themed Tango to Abracadabra by Lady Gaga.

Once they’d both reprised their routines from Saturday night, the judges delivered their verdict. Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke decided to save Balvinder and Julian, while head Judge Shirley Ballas – who this week was the judge with the casting vote – said that she would have also chosen to save Balvinder and Julian should she have been required to vote.

Following the news of Balvinder facing her third dance-off, Strictly fans flocked to social media to comment – while some also issued a demand about what they need next from the EastEnders star.

@aoushawkins said: “Balvinder in 3 dance offs should be criminal actually #strictly.” @KING0FMYHEARTS commented: “Can the public vote properly for once in their life. let her live!! bal shouldnt have been in the dance off THREE TIMES??”

@sukixeve wrote: “Again? seriously? i’m so devastated for her she’s had her confidence knocked 3 times now that’s so unfair for her when she’s doing so amazing and committed to trying so so hard however i am really glad and relieved she’s through to week 7, we got you bal.”

@RyanSoapKing25 shared: “At this point Bal needs a Jive or her Couples Choice next week – I genuinely don’t know what Bal has to do at this point to get above 28 points after 3 weeks. She certainly isn’t the worst dancer and she’s improving every week. The judges are so harsh on her #TeamBalian.”

@SueLeatherdale2 echoed: “… Bal is giving everything she’s got. They’ve grown so much as a couple. Think it’s time for their Couples Choice!”

Sunday’s results show featured a performance of her song How To Be Human by The Celebrity Traitors star Cat Burns, accompanied by a routine from professional dancers Michelle Tsiakkas and Nancy Xu, while the Strictly professionals also performed a Monsters’ Ball group dance to continue the Halloween theme.

The remaining nine couples, including Balvinder and Julian, will take to the dancefloor when Strictly returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday November 8 at 6.25pm.
