Snow Totals From Weekend’s Two Storms Reported

Two storms brought several inches of snow to the region Saturday and Sunday, turning the area into a slippery winter wonderland.

Snow totals from Saturday’s storm:

• New Hope Borough – 3 inches (NWS)

• Lower Makefield Township – 2.7 inches (NWS)

• Northampton Township – 2 inches (NWS)

• Levittown – 1.8 inches (NWS)

The snow totals from Sunday’s snowstorm:

• Bensalem Township – 4 inches (NWS)

• Northampton Township – 3.9 inches (NWS)

• Tullytown Borough – 3.5 inches (NWS)

The storms kept road crews busy with salting operations taking place Saturday and plowing needed for Sunday’s system.

Sunday’s storm made way for an Arctic airmass that moved over the region and will stick around for several days.

Slushy areas and water from melted snow froze overnight and created slick spots on area roadways.

PennDOT trucks were out working to keep roads clear Monday morning as drivers began hitting Route 13 in Bristol Township and Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township.

The National Weather Service reported that there will be wind chills between 0 and negative 15 degrees Monday night into Tuesday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory was put in place for Tuesday morning.

There are no more chances of snow this week, but forecasters said there is a chance of a snowstorm next Sunday.

The forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 14. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as zero. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 8. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 33. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 30.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 19.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 6.
