Watch: Argos brings back Connie and Trevor for Christmas ad

Argos has launched its 2025 Christmas campaign, bringing back mascots Connie and Trevor, but this time enlisting Inbetweeners star Simon Bird to help challenge the idea that the retailer is “just about toys”.

The campaign, created by The&Partnership and directed by David Kerr, continues the retailer’s ‘There’s More to Argos’ brand platform, which first launched in 2023 to highlight the breadth of its range across tech, home and lifestyle.

The film launched on 1 November across social channels and will run on TV and digital platforms throughout the festive period.

In the 90-second ad, Bird plays Tom, a last-minute Christmas shopper who dismisses Argos on the phone, until the duo of Connie and Trevor appear in his car mirror to correct him.

The pair whisk him off to a warehouse filled with unexpected festive gifts, from high-end gadgets to stylish homewares, proving that Argos offers far more than toys and games.

Argos head of campaigns Laura Boothby said the retailer wanted a “bold and playful” campaign to showcase its full offer this Christmas.

“We’ve unleashed Connie and Trevor to mischievously show the huge range of desirable gifts and top brands we have for the whole family,” she said.

Simon Bird described fronting the ad as “an honour”, adding that Argos remains an “iconic British brand” for many who grew up circling the catalogue.

Executive creative directors Matt Moreland and Chris Clarke of The&Partnership said the campaign was designed to challenge seasonal perceptions of Argos as a toy retailer, while director David Kerr praised Bird’s “perfect balance of tension and comedy” in bringing the story to life.
