Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars recalled in multiple states, including Alabama

Häagen-Dazs issued a limited voluntary recall of some of its ice cream bars after a batch was found to contain undeclared wheat, posing a risk for those with allergies.
On Monday, the FDA announced the recall for Häagen-Dazs Dark Chocolate Mini Bars. The product, the recall stated, could cause life-threatening reactions in people with wheat allergies or sensitivities.
“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the FDA said in its advisory.
The recall applies to six-count packages with the batch code LLA519501. The best by date is Jan. 31, 2027
The recalled bars were sold at Kroger in 29 states, including Alabama, Mississippi and more.
States include: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The bars were also sold in Giants Eagle stores.
No other Häagen-Dazs products are impacted by the recall.
“We believe products containing wheat were repacked into the incorrect packaging at the beginning of a production run,” the company said. “Our investigation is ongoing.”
As of now, no illnesses have been reported.
Those who have purchased the recalled product can safely dispose of the items, or return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund.
