Wait, Why Is There No Celebrity Traitors Tonight?

After eight episodes of banishments, murders, and Alan being the best worst Traitor ever, the end is nigh for Celebrity Traitors.

The tense finale is upon us, seeing our five finalists – Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga – head to the roundtable one final time in the hopes to win the charity cash prize. Will the Faithfuls figure out the Traitors, or will the Traitors win? Watch this space.

But while we’re usually used to spending our Wednesdays cosied up on the sofa with Celebrity Traitors, we’ll have to wait a few extra hours to watch this year’s last episode. Surprisingly, the final isn’t actually taking place tonight (Wednesday 5 November)…

Why isn’t Celebrity Traitors on tonight?

For the last four weeks, Celebrity Traitors has aired two episodes each week on a Wednesday and Thursday night. However, tonight (Wednesday 5 November) there will be no episode. Instead, the ninth and final episode will air tomorrow evening (5 November) at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Now, the BBC hasn’t explained exactly why there’s been a change in our usual Traitors programming. However, given Wednesday 5 is Bonfire Night, the delayed final could be down to the simple fact that viewers will be more likely to be out watching fireworks than sat in front of the TV. If you do settle down on the sofa at 9pm tonight, expect to find the first episode of a brand new series of Shetland airing on the BBC.

When is the Celebrity Traitors final episode airing?

The final episode of Celebrity Traitors will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on November 6. Treating us to a little extra Traitors antics, the finale will be an extra long episode – running for 70 minutes, instead of the usual 60 minutes.

Immediately after the finale, viewers can head on over to BBC Two for the final episode of spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked. Host Ed Gamble will be joined by our finalists, as well as presenter Claudia Winkleman, to deep dive into the season.

What will happen in the Celebrity Traitors final?

The final isn’t set to be too different from that which we’ve seen on the original Traitors series.

The episode will begin with a final mission, giving our contestants another chance to bag money for the £100,000 prize pot. While the money lands in the pocket of the winner on the original Traitors, the celeb spin-off will see the money go to their chosen charity.

Once the mission is out of the way, it’s on to the good stuff. Our finalists will sit down for one final roundtable, where they can all vote for who to banish. Unlike the rest of the series, the banished individual won’t reveal whether they were a Traitor or a Faithful.

After that, our final four will head to the fire pit with Claudia. There, they’ll have the chance to decide their next steps: will they end the game or will they banish another? If they choose to end the game and no Traitors remain among them, the prize pot will be split evenly between them. If they end the game and a Traitor remains under the radar, the Traitor will take the whole prize pot.

Now, it isn’t a majority vote on this one. If even one person chooses their ‘banish’ option, then the whole group must get rid of one of the four.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Claudia without some drama. In our past season, Claudia has thrown ceremonial pouches into the fire to reveal the choices. If all four burn green, the game ends. If at least one burns red, they vote again. Unlike the roundtables, there’s a time crunch working against our finalists. They won’t have long to debate who to choose, writing the name of their chosen contestant on their slate.

The unlucky chosen one will then reveal if they are a Traitor or a Faithful, and leave the game. After that, the remaining players must decide to either banish again or end the game. Only when the game is ended will they reveal their role.

And if one thing is for certain, it’s bound to be a dramatic end. Previous finals have seen Traitors turn on each other and Faithfuls take home the win. At this point, there’s no telling how it will end – and we simply can’t wait to watch.
