Hallmark Media Inks Expanded Output Deal With Netflix (Exclusive)

Hallmark Media and Netflix have inked a new and expanded output deal, one that will bring new content to Netflix users in the U.S., and bring Hallmark’s signature holiday movies to Netflix users outside of the U.S.

The companies had partnered on an output deal last year that brought 10 of Hallmark’s Christmas movies to the platform.

According to Jesse Wallace, senior vp and head of distribution at Hallmark Media, the company saw results on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+ in the aftermath of that deal.

“Hallmark was pleased with our linear viewership and Hallmark+ engagement and subscriber growth after the Netflix deal,” Wallace tells The Hollywood Reporter. “We’re confident the strategic windowing of our content through this branded licensing agreement will fuel our linear and SVOD businesses.”

The new deal, however, is significantly more expansive, bringing the first two seasons of the Hallmark series The Way Home to Netflix users in the U.S. next month, season three in February 2026, and season four in late 2026, after its debut on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+.

It also includes a handful of Valentine’s Day-themed movies, which will debut on Netflix in the U.S. in January 2026, including An Unexpected Valentine, Sisterhood, Inc., The Royal We, Hats Off to Love and Love in the Clouds.

“We remain committed to our core mission at Hallmark, which is to spread joy and positivity through the world with our critically acclaimed movie and episodic content,” Wallace says. “The global reach of Netflix is unparalleled, and we are excited to expose our content to new and existing Hallmark fans on Netflix. With this branded content licensing agreement, we can serve fans where they are, while also driving fans (new and existing) to our linear channels and/or Hallmark+ for our newest content and the entire Hallmark content library.”

But the deal also brings Hallmark’s Christmas movies to select markets outside of the U.S. beginning in November, and running through January. The films include Haul Out the Holly, Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up, All I Need for Christmas, Christmas Under the Lights and Our Holiday Story.

“The teams are excited to bring Hallmark content to Netflix subscribers around the world,” Wallace says. “Hallmark has long-standing relationships with broadcasters worldwide, and we’re thrilled to partner with Netflix to expand our international reach.”
