Callum Morton Is Finally A Gull!

TUFC is delighted to announce that Torquay-born striker Callum Morton is the first new addition to Jimmy Ball’s squad for the 2026/27 season.

26 year-old Callum returns to his hometown club after departing Plainmoor following the closure of United’s youth department in 2015.

After continuing his apprenticeship at Yeovil Town, a move to West Bromwich Albion followed, during which time Morton gained experience of first-team football during loan spells the with Braintree, Northampton, Lincoln, Fleetwood and Peterborough.

His spell at Northampton was particularly fruitful, with his 8 goals in 12 games – including a strike in the League 2 Play-Off Final against Exeter City – helping the Cobblers clinch promotion to the third tier via Wembley in 2020.

Permanent switches to Fleetwood and Salford followed, as Callum’s reputation in the EFL gathered further momentum, before stints at Forest Green, Northampton again, and Bristol Rovers preceded Callum spending the final weeks of the season at eventual National League South champions, Worthing.
