Wigan Warriors will face Hull FC in a pre-season friendly on Sunday 1 February (3pm K.O.) at The Brick Community Stadium.
The game will be Liam Marshall’s Testimonial match as the 29-year-old celebrates 10 professional years at Wigan Warriors.
Marshall made his debut for Wigan Warriors against Leigh in a 20-0 home win on 3rd March 2017 before scoring four tries against Warrington Wolves a week later at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in a 38-16 win. He has since gone on to score 169 tries for the Club in 213 appearances, also adding 11 goals including one from the touchline on his 200th appearance this season against Huddersfield Giants at Dewsbury in 2025.
Perhaps his most famous tries include the try that sealed the Betfred Challenge Cup win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022, having scored two against St Helens in the semi-final – or the one that sealed the Betfred Super League Grand Final win in 2023 against Catalans Dragons.
Commenting on his Testimonial game, Liam Marshall said: “Firstly, a massive thank you to Hull FC for agreeing to play in my Testimonial game, we really appreciate your support in what is hopefully going to be a great afternoon on and off the field.
“Secondly, having a game at The Brick in front of our fans to celebrate 10 years at my hometown club is a very proud moment for me and my family.
“The Wigan fans have always supported me greatly since I have been at the club and hopefully I will see lots of you down at the game supporting me and the lads. My committee and I are very excited for the game and the year ahead and hope you can join us!”
“It’s a great occasion to celebrate Liam’s career,” says Warriors head coach Matt Peet
“Hull and Wigan have a strong history together and they showed last season that they are a club on the rise so it is a really exciting contest to help us prepare for the season.”
