‘I’ve Done Everything I Can’

Jelly Roll was forced to cancel his concert in Auckland, New Zealand, due to illness. The “Liar” singer posted a statement on his Instagram Stories, issuing an apology to fans who had tickets to the show.
“Dear Auckland, I’ve done everything I can, I just can’t shake it. It breaks my heart, I’ve probably missed 3 shows in the last decade. I pride myself on showing up no matter what. Just couldn’t do it this time. Please forgive me,” he wrote.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, was slated to perform at The Outer Fields at Western Springs on Saturday, Nov. 8. Many people reacted to the news on Reddit, some criticizing the entertainer for canceling the show so late in the day.
“Cancelled as opening acts were setting up and people all got kicked out of the venue,” one person wrote, kicking off a new thread.
“Absolutely crazy to cancel so late,” someone else said.
“Pretty sh****, if you were too sick to go on and there was a chance of cancellation, don’t leave it until the gates are open to do so,” a third comment read.
“We flew up from Queenstown, plus [accommodations], lost a few grand on this. Won’t be coming up again if he decides to come back,” a fourth Redditor added.
Jelly Roll’s tour across Australia and New Zealand has come to a close. His next show is scheduled for Nov. 15 in Mexico City, which gives him some time to rest up.
