TYRES WILL BE CRUCIAL
The Sprint race saw the bikes running the stickiest, soft-compound tyres, but today they’re all running mediums. That could throw off the settings for some of the riders, but Bezzecchi looked very fast in practice, and his team expect him to be more competitive than he was when he claimed third in the Sprint.
Right now, it’s starting to shape up very nicely for another three-way scrap for the win, with Bezzecchi, Marquez and Acosta running first, second and third, respectively.
Bagnaia, meanwhile, is now 2.5 seconds adrift in fourth. Right now, he doesn’t seem to have the same pace as the leading trio, but there’s a long way to go, and tyres could be a real factor at the end of this race.
