Jets-Browns weather: Wet, windy Sunday in store for showdown at MetLife Stadium

Fans attending the Jets and Browns game at MetLife Stadium will experience a cool, wet day as rain moves into the area late morning and persists through evening hours. Temperatures are expected to reach the low 60s, according to AccuWeather.
Fans expected to carpool before the game will experience partly cloudy conditions and temperatures in the low 50s. As the day progresses, clouds will thicken, and precipitation chances will climb from 27% at 9 a.m. to 60% by 10 a.m., when rain is expected to start falling.
Winds from the southeast are forecast at 9 mph, with gusts up to 24 mph possible throughout the day.
The Jets’ injury situation remains unclear, with nine players on their injury report showing unspecified game statuses as of their latest injury report.
Wide receiver Garrett Wilson and linebacker Francisco Mauigoa were limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday with knee and concussion issues, respectively. Running back Khalil Herbert and offensive lineman Xavier Newman-Johnson both missed Wednesday’s practice but returned for limited work Thursday. Herbert is managing a groin injury while Newman-Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury.
Several Jets players logged full participation this week, including quarterback Tyrod Taylor, running back Kene Nwangwu, and tight ends Stone Smartt and Mason Taylor. Taylor is working through a knee injury, Nwangwu is in concussion protocol, and both Smartt and Taylor are dealing with quadriceps injuries.
