Steelers legend still won’t forgive franchise for what it did to him in his last year: ‘It’s amazing’

Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made headlines this week for comments he made about Pittsburgh failing him in his final season.
Speaking on the “Footbahlin” podcast, he compared the situation quarterback Aaron Rodgers has with the Steelers to his own experience in 2021. While doing so, he threw some shade at a former teammate.

“I still think it’s funny, because, like, they’ve given Aaron DK (Metcalf), all these things, and I got a center that had never played center before in my last year,” Roethlisberger said. “It’s amazing.”
That center was then-rookie Kendrick Green, who took to social media to respond to the dig.
“Damn talk about catching strays jeez Louise lol,” Green wrote on X.
Green was moved to left guard in Pittsburgh in 2021 and is now on the Bills’ practice squad, listed as a center
Roethlisberger also shaded the Steelers’ decision to use a third-round pick on Green on his podcast, in 2023.
“He was my center my last year. They drafted that guy to be my center. Well, last year, he didn’t even dress. And now they have him playing a little bit of fullback,” Roethlisberger said. “Kevin Colbert and them drafted him to be my center my last year. And now he is playing fullback. But good for Kendrick.”
