GOP senator on Epstein files: ‘ I don’t think this is going to go away’
Senator John Kennedy, a Louisiana Republican, told CNN Thursday, “ I don’t think this is going to go away,” referring to the controversy surrounding the DOJ’s files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“ My people want to know who else, if anyone, did Epstein traffic young women to? And if they were punished, how were they punished? And if they weren’t punished, why?
Now, President Trump has turned that issue over to Attorney General Bondi. I don’t know how she is going to answer that question for the American people without releasing all the records,” Kennedy said.
He added: “I just don’t think this issue is going to go away until that issue is addressed and answered to the American people’s satisfaction.”

Trump goes silent on Truth Social after posting about ‘Jeffrey Epstein Hoax’
It’s been over a day since President Donald Trump, who typically has a frequent social media presence, posted on Truth Social.
The last post addresses the ongoing controversy surrounding government files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which Trump has called a “hoax.”
“The Democrats are using the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax to try and deflect from their massive failures, in particular, their most recent one — THE SHUTDOWN!” Trump wrote on Wednesday shortly before 2:40 p.m. ET.
The White House’s rapid response X account has continued to be active on social media.

Epstein survivor demands accountability and justice
The newly released emails “speak for themselves,” Epstein survivor Danielle Bensky told CNN.
“Survivors have been very clear and consistent about our messaging: that anyone that performs or anybody that has done any wrongdoing…should face accountability. They should be brought to justice,” she said.
“I think the only way we’re ever going to be able to do that is by releasing all of the files from the government.”

Americans should ‘know the devil they decided to pick,’ Texas Democrat says
Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett demands heightened transparency from the Justice Department after the latest batch of emails were made public.
“We don’t know what the DOJ has nor what it is that the DOJ potentially was trying to do,” Crockett told CNN Tuesday.
“We need these files to be released. We are looking for transparency,” she said.
Seemingly taking aim at Trump, Crockett said: “If people decide that they want to continue to support person who may be a pedophile himself or a person who obviously is covering for pedophiles, that’s on them. But they should at least know the devil they decided to pick.”
Trump has not been accused of wrongdoing.

Stunning emails reveal what Epstein thought about Trump
A newly released batch of Jeffrey Epstein’s private emails shared with Congress by the sex offender’s estate claimed that Donald Trump “knew about the girls.”
The previously undisclosed emails, published Wednesday by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, date from 2011 to 2019. Republicans on the committee then released thousands of other messages, including emails to and from Epstein and others in his circle, including his attorneys, journalists, author Michael Wolff, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and Deepak Chopra, among many others.
Trump is repeatedly mentioned in messages to and from Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019. There also is correspondence from his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 on sex trafficking charges.

Lawmakers question Trump’s relationship with Epstein amid email tranche
Members of Congress have been asking questions about Donald Trump’s knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s behavior after the most recent batch of records were made public.
Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
“Why would Trump—who allegedly knew of Epstein’s crimes—’spend hours’ at a pedophile’s house with an underage victim? I think we all know the answer,” Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Jim McGovern wrote in a social media post.
“With @Rep_Grijalva sworn in, we’re one step closer to justice for the brave survivors of Epstein’s abuse network. We will have a vote. Finally. Why did the President pull out all the stops to block the release of these files?” Connecticut Democratic Rep. John Larson remarked. “What is he trying to hide? Let the truth hatch out.”

Biden would have released the relevant Epstein documents if Trump was implicated, GOP Congressman says
Florida Republican Rep. Carlos Gimenez says he’s “confident” President Donald Trump isn’t implicated in the Epstein Files.
“If there was something in there that implicated President Trump, the Biden administration would’ve shown it to us when they had control of the files,” he told CNN Thursday.
Pressed as to why the White House has been fighting against the documents’ release, the Congressman said: “I don’t know why there’s a fight but, you know, the American people need to know the truth, whatever it is and whoever it is.”
“I’m pretty confident — I’m very confident— that the president is not implicated in this. Because if he was, the Biden administration would’ve let us know that a long time ago,” he added.

Lawmakers push for the release of the Epstein Files after latest batch of emails
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are calling once again for the Justice Department to release the Epstein Files.
The DOJ “must release every piece of the Epstein files. No more secrets. The American people, the survivors, and the victims deserve the truth,” New York Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman wrote on X.
New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez similarly urged: “It’s time for the truth to come to light and for the DOJ to release the files.”
“Our signature remains on the discharge petition for the release of the Epstein Files. It will stay there,” South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace posted. “We demand justice for the victims.”

House Democrats highlight more Epstein emails about Trump
Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee pointed out additional emails sent by Epstein, released in the latest tranche, that mention Donald Trump.
These emails “raise more serious questions about Trump,” the Oversight Democrats account wrote in a social media post Thursday.
In one December 2015 email, Epstein asked a reporter: “would you like [photos] of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen.”
It’s not clear if he actually possessed those images or whether Epstein ever gave them to the reporter.

MAGA firebrand and rape survivor Nancy Mace holds firm that Epstein files must be released
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) pushed back on allegations that President Donald Trump had attempted to pressure her against signing a discharge petition in the House of Representatives to force a vote to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Mace spoke to The Independent exclusively as she headed to the House floor after a discharge petition proposed by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) reached the requisite 218 signatures Wednesday after Speaker Mike Johnson swore in Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.).
Mace said she had not spoken to Trump since Friday.
“I’ve been traveling, and I had a big press conference yesterday, so he and I’ve been on the road, but he and I’ve been playing phone tag,” she said.
