Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Upset Kardashians Over Photo Drama

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle probably didn’t think attending a 70th birthday party for Kris Jenner at Jeff Bezos’ house on Nov. 8 was going to be so controversial — but here we are.

The buzz began after snapshots of the Sussexes were scrubbed from Jenner and Kim Kardashian‘s Instagram accounts on Nov. 9. There’s been back-and-forth reports on People that claimed there were consent forms about photographs at the party, but the outlet has backed off from that allegation. A source is now confirming that “there were no consent forms,” which means that somewhere along the line, Harry and Meghan likely asked for the photos to be removed themselves.

According to the Daily Mail, Kardashian was not thrilled by the request.

“Kim was like, ‘You’ve already been papped outside and you were at the Baby2Baby event the same night being photographed like Meghan Trainor and Paris Hilton, so what’s the problem?’” an insider alleged. “Kim is pi**ed off.”

The Jenner celebration featured the true A-listers in Los Angeles, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, and Justin Bieber, so the fact that Meghan and Harry were included was a big deal. Still, brand expert Nick Ede told the U.K. outlet that accepting the invite is somewhat problematic for the royal couple.

By claiming a friendship with someone like Bezos, the duo “goes against the narrative of environmental support and mental health.” He continued, “Meghan and Harry have a problem with admitting they are now part of Hollywood society, which is what she wanted, and they cannot, on one hand, use their star power for good, like going to charity events, and on the other hand, demand they are erased from events they don’t want to be seen to support.”

Ede believes that this “behavior will backfire on them and they need Hollywood support now more than ever.” Bezos, Jenner, and Kardashian all have a certain amount of power in the entertainment landscape. The Sussexes’ representative has not made a comment about the photo snafu, but fans are the first to notice when something is removed from social media.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are walking a fine line between philanthropy and Hollywood, and they might have to pick a lane because fans are confused as to where they stand.
