Is Donovan Mitchell playing against Heat on Wednesday?

After some early-season stumbling blocks, the Cleveland Cavaliers have picked up steam lately. Entering a Wednesday night matchup with the Miami Heat, Cleveland has won four of its last five games. It’s started to look more and more like the squad that won 64 regular-season games last season.

Of course, the only game the Cavaliers have lost recently was in an instant classic with the Miami Heat on Monday. It appears the Cavaliers are treating the rematch only two days later as a rest day of sorts ahead of a six-game homestand that will begin Thursday against the Toronto Raptors.

That unfortunately means you won’t see guys like All-Star scorer Donovan Mitchell take the court in Miami again. At least, not until a potential playoff matchup in the spring:

Aside from Mitchell, center Evan Mobley, and starting point guard Darius Garland also won’t play. If there were ever a sign the Cavaliers were effectively punting a game, it’d be them sitting their three best players and only All-Stars from last season.
