Update: Delta ground stop lifted after morning delays at Detroit Metropolitan Airport

DETROIT, MI – Delta flights out of Detroit Metro Airport are unable to take off Friday morning due to a computer outage.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a grounding notice at 5:43 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, grounding all Delta flights out of the airport.

Delta is the only airline affected by the grounding.

The grounding is projected to be lifted by 8 a.m., but there is a 30-60% chance the grounding could be extended.

Travelers are advised to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
