The 2026 NBA playoffs continue. This will be Game 1 of the 2026 Western Conference Finals between the two squads.

The Thunder have been off for a week. They survived a nail-biter with a 115-110 Game 4 win over the Los Angeles Lakers last Monday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points and eight assists. Ajay Mitchell helped with 28 points and four assists.

Meanwhile, the Spurs punched their ticket with a 139-109 Game 6 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Victor Wembanyama had 19 points and six rebounds. Stephon Castle exploded for 32 points and 11 rebounds.

Advice and prediction

We’re about to find out what the Thunder are exactly made of. It’s the Western Conference Finals, but this will be their first true test of the NBA playoffs. No offense to the Suns or Lakers, but the Spurs are several levels up on them. Feels like this is the first time in OKC’s current contention window where it has a real chance to lose an NBA playoff series. San Antonio has equally been a dominant force. Wembanyama has broken out to be a top-three player. All that said, I think Gilgeous-Alexander and company are ready for the high-level challenge. And that starts with a competitive Game 1 win.

Prediction: Thunder 110, Spurs 104
