National Duals Wrestling 2025 Predictions

Iowa Wrestling vs. Missouri Wrestling

Iowa enters this dual as a heavy favorite, projected to win in eight of ten bouts. Missouri has the firepower to make things interesting, particularly at 149lbs and 174lbs, but the Hawkeyes’ lineup depth and bonus potential at the middle weights should make the difference.

Expect #3 Drake Ayala, #2 Michael Caliendo, and #2 Angelo Ferrari to set the tone early. – David Bray

Projected Final Score: Iowa 23, Missouri 9

Illinois Wrestling vs. Little Rock Wrestling

Any prediction is predicated on who is in the lineup, but Illinois has a bit more firepower in the lower weights, and that should carry them through. Give the edge to the Illini, but big wins from Matty Bianchi and Stephen Little could make this interesting. – Kyle Klingman

Prediction: Illinois over Little Rock

Northern Iowa Wrestling vs. NC State Wrestling

Expect this dual to come down to heavyweight, with the 149-pound match between Koy Buesgens and Caleb Rathjen potentially deciding the outcome. NC State is without its star heavyweight, which should be enough for Northern Iowa to eke out a victory in Tulsa. – Kyle Klingman

Prediction: Northern Iowa over NC State

Oklahoma State Wrestling vs. Cornell Wrestling

Oklahoma State enters this dual heavily favored, but Cornell’s lower weights should keep it competitive early. Expect #2 Troy Spratley, #12 Richard Figueroa, and #4 Casey Swiderski to build an early cushion for the Cowboys. Josh Saunders could get Cornell on the board at 141lbs, while #3 Simon Ruiz has the best chance to score a big win for the Big Red at 174.

The back half of the lineup tilts strongly toward Oklahoma State, with #4 Zack Ryder, #9 Cody Merrill, and #9 Konner Doucet likely sealing the deal. If the Cowboys get rolling early, this one could turn lopsided by the final whistle. – Andrew Spey

Prediction: Oklahoma State over Cornell

Ohio State Wrestling vs. Wyoming Wrestling

Wyoming wrestlers are always ready to compete, and while they’re ranked behind nine of ten Ohio State starters, don’t be surprised if this dual is more competitive than it appears on paper.

The Cowboys could steal a match or two, notably at 149lbs and 197lbs, but the Buckeyes’ depth and bonus-point potential through the middle weights should carry them comfortably. – David Bray

Projected Final Score: Ohio State 27, Wyoming 6

Minnesota Wrestling vs. Virginia Tech Wrestling

Minnesota enters this dual favored in seven of ten bouts, but expect a hard-fought battle from start to finish. Virginia Tech has the potential to swing several close matches, especially at 125lbs and 157lbs, where #4 Eddie Ventresca and #10 Ethen Miller could lead the charge for the Hokies.

Still, Minnesota’s depth through the middle weights and its elite upper lineup, anchored by #1 Max McEnelly, should be enough to secure the win. – Jon Kozak

Projected Final Score: Minnesota 18, Virginia Tech 12

Michigan Wrestling vs. Arizona State Wrestling Prediction

This dual could go either way, but Michigan’s upperweights and bonus potential make the Wolverines a slight favorite. Expect Michigan to win six of ten bouts, with #3 Lachlan McNeil, #9 Beau Mantanona, #13 Brock Mantanona, and #4 Taye Ghadiali all projected to lead the charge.

Arizona State will need to flip one of the middleweights — 149, 157, or 184 — and limit bonus losses at 174 and 285 to stay in it. If they can do that, the Sun Devils have an outside shot at the upset. – Jon Kozak

Projected Final Score: Michigan 21, Arizona State 14

Lehigh Wrestling vs. Nebraska Wrestling Prediction

Nebraska comes in as the clear favorite, and most signs point to a comfortable win for the Huskers. Lehigh’s best early chance comes at 125lbs, where #5 Sheldon Seymour is expected to edge Kael Lauridsen by decision. The Mountain Hawks could also get an upset at 133lbs with Matty Lopes over #11 Jacob Van Dee, though if Lehigh opts to rest Lopes, Nebraska would likely pick up bonus points.

From there, Nebraska should control the middle weights. #2 Brock Hardy, #1 Antrell Taylor, #4 Christopher Minto, and #6 Silas Allred are all favored to win, while #1 AJ Ferrari is projected to close out the dual with a victory at heavyweight. – Andrew Spey

Projected Final Score: Nebraska 23, Lehigh 9
