Country music star says he is done eating at one restaurant: ‘Can’t do it again’

If you are looking to head out for a nice day and maybe thinking about dining out there is one restaurant you can be sure you won’t run into country music star Walker Hayes at.
Hayes might be known for his hit song “Fancy Like,” which really preaches the value of a good night at Applebee’s, but when it comes to the popular restaurant he has had his fill.
The country music star made the revelation in an interview with Taste of Country earlier this year.
Hayes’ hit song goes, “Yeah, we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night/Got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake/Get some whipped cream on the top, too/Two straws, one check, girl, I got you.”
And per Taste of Country, Hayes has himself an Applebee’s gold card which gives him free food from the restaurant for life. So, he was asked if he still uses it.
“You know man, Applebee’s was so good to us, and they always are … but you know, you fatigue of a restaurant, you know what I mean?”
He compared it to a time when he worked at the Macaroni Grill.
“I mean the food is solid and the service is amazing — the whole brand is amazing — but if I just email Macaroni Grill then I need to drive to another town,” he said.
“And I think we’re there on Applebee’s.”
The singer told Taste of Country he and his family hammered Applebee’s at one point, leading to the fatigue.
“Crushed it, so hard,” he said. “We did meet and greets there, we’ve had to-go boxes with steaks, we’ve had so many Oreo shakes, you would not believe.
“I’d be fine if I never ate another Oreo again.”
Hayes really made it clear that has had a whole lot of Applebee’s in his day, and we have all been there with fatigue on eating something.
“It’s funny how something great and awesome, and one day you jus wake up and it’s like, ‘I can’t, I can’t do it again,’” he said.
“We’re taking an Applebee’s break now.”
