World reacts as Chiefs coach throws Patrick Mahomes under bus

The Kansas City Chiefs have found themselves in uncharted waters, or at least waters they haven’t found themselves in for the better part of a decade. Kansas City’s 19-22 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday dropped the team to 5-5, whilst improving the Broncos to 8-8.
The Chiefs are now not only behind the Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, both of whom have wins over the Chiefs this season, in the AFC West, but are also outside of the AFC playoff picture entirely.
In a videoconference with reporters on Monday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that while the season has not gone according to plan, there was still time to turn things around.
“We’re not quite as negative as the outside world is,” he said in a Monday videoconference. “We know what we need to clean up, and we need to do it, but the guys, they get it. Some of these guys have been through some pretty good seasons, and this isn’t like this one’s lost.
“We just got to clean up a few of these things, and the urgency level, obviously, we got to make sure we take care of that now.”
It was suggested on the call that more of a commitment to the run could help to clean things up moving forward, and shockingly, Reid threw his star quarterback under the bus for the imbalance, insinuating that Patrick Mahomes is changing things too often at the line of scrimmage.
“The runs are being called; it’s just sometimes they get turned into passes in today’s world.”
Fans reacted to Reid’s statement on social media.
“Ughhh? Throwing 15 under the bus today wasn’t on my bingo card. JF,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“So now it’s all on Mahomes? Hunt wasn’t on the field most of the 2d half,” one fan added.
“Kinda threw the QB under the bus a bit,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the way the offense operates changes over the second half of the season.
