Frost advisory issued for parts of GTA

CP24’s Bill Coulter with an update on temperatures throughout the rest of the week, including a low of 2 degrees for Thursday.

A frost advisory is in effect for parts of the Greater Toronto Area, marking a stark temperature shift following last weekend’s scorching weather.

Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for Mississauga and Brampton late Wednesday morning.

“Temperatures are expected to drop to near zero degrees Celsius tonight into early Thursday morning,” the national weather agency said.

“Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees. Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.”

Environment Canada said there is also a “risk of frost” in Toronto overnight, when the low drops to just 3 C.

Sunshine is expected in the city all week, with daytime highs of 16 C on Wednesday, 13 C on Thursday, and 18 C on Friday.

The long weekend will see bright skies and daytime highs bouncing between 18 C and 19 C.
