Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ home broken into

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ home was broken into on Sunday, authorities confirmed.
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that Sanders’ Cleveland home was broken into on Sunday. Authorities said that the burglary was carried out by three suspects during Sunday’s 23-16 loss to the Ravens, Sanders’ debut as quarterback for the Browns.
The suspects were captured on surveillance footage entering and exiting Sanders’s home wearing masks and gloves, according to authorities. Officials estimated that approximately $200,000 in property was stolen.
Representatives for the Cleveland Browns and the NFL did not immediately return NBC News requests for comment.
The break-in to Sanders’ home follows a series of robberies of the homes of several athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis, were burglarized last year.
The break ins prompted the NBA and NFL to issue warnings to their players about the growing threat of organized burglary rings targeting high-profile athletes and other wealthy Americans.
Seven men were arrested in February and charged in connection with the alleged burglaries.
A Seattle man was then arrested in June and charged in connection with a series of robberies and burglaries of four other current and former professional athletes.
