Bonfire night 2025 firework displays and events in and around Cardiff

There is not long to go until Bonfire Night is upon us and fireworks light the sky in Wales, but tickets are selling fast so you better book quick

As autumn is well underway there are plenty of upcoming holidays to remember in your diary and there is no better time to book your tickets for some of the most exciting events than now.

Whilst you may be thinking about your Halloween costume or what spooky film to watch on October 31, just around the corner is Bonfire Night and tickets for some of south Wales’ biggest events are selling quick. As November 5 is on a Wednesday this year, some events are starting as early as November 1, so be prepared for several nights of loud bangs.

Many firework displays in and around Cardiff now also include additional entertainment and food vendors to keep you entertained until you are mesmerised by the lights in the sky.

Sophiaworks, Cardiff

With many tickets selling out fast, you will need to be quick if you’re looking to watch “Cardiff’s biggest and most anticipated fireworks display.” The event has sold out three years in a row, so booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Happening on Wednesday, November 5, at Sophia Gardens, both seated and standing tickets cost £15 for adults and £9 for under 17s.

Gates for the event open at 5.15pm before the display starts at 7pm, giving you plenty of time to explore the funfair and eat from the street food traders on the Pavilion lawn.

Lo Lounge, Cardiff Bay

Lo Lounge, near the Cardiff Bay docks, is hosting a firework display over four nights in November, from November 2 to November 8.

Alongside a firework display from “the best seats in Cardiff” there will be a fire show with a fire dancer, street food from Wing Stack, board games, music and drinks for all of the family.

Tickets start at £10 with doors opening at 6pm and entertainment starting at 7pm each night.

Cardiff Golf Club, Whitchurch

Promising big bangs and a wonderful night of spectacular fireworks, the Whitchurch Golf Club are hosting their annual Bonfire Night event. As well as the firework display food and drink will be on offer with the option to purchase food in advance with your tickets.

The event takes place on November 5 at 7pm with tickets costing £8.50 for children and £11.50 for adults.

Glamorgan Wanderers, Cardiff

On Sunday, November 2, Glamorgan Wanderers RFC are hosting their Bonfire Night event for another year at their grounds in Ely, Cardiff. Gates open at 4.30pm with the firework display starting at 7.30pm.

Child tickets cost £5 and adult tickets cost £6 each.

Diamond Ground, Whitchurch

Cardiff Harlequins RFC are also hosting their Bonfire Night event on Sunday, November 2, at the Diamond Ground in Whitchurch. The display starts at 7.15pm with entry starting at 5.30pm.

Tickets are cash only at £5 for adults and under 10s go free. You can purchase your ticket from the rugby club, at the Texaco Garage (Llandaff North) and at La Cucina Da Mara in Whitchurch.

Jenner Park, Barry

The biggest firework event in Barry is back for another year promising “an unforgettable evening of explosive colour, community spirit, and family fun” at Jenner Park Stadium. Hosted by Barry Town United AFC, the event will take place on Saturday, November 1, with the display starting at 8pm.

Tickets cost £3 for children and £5 for adults.

Hi Tide Inn, Porthcawl

The Hi Tide Inn at Porthcawl is bringing its annual free Bonfire Night event to the beachfront for another year. The fireworks will be lighting up the sky on Saturday, November 1, at around 7.30pm when the sky gets dark.

Llanharan Welfare Ground, Llanharan

Llanharan Community Council is hosting a free fireworks display on Bonfire Night for the people in the community to enjoy. Funded by the council, the event will take place on November 5 at the Llanharan welfare ground with gates opening at 5.30pm.

Not only will there be fireworks lighting the sky, with low-noise ones to start, there will also be food and drinks stalls and fairground rides for the family to enjoy.

Llanerch Vineyard, Pontyclun

The Llanerch Vineyard Hotel is celebrating Bonfire Night with more than just a bang as it hosts the Fireworks Spectacular that includes live entertainment alongside fireworks.

The family-friendly event on Friday, November 7, starts at 6pm with entertainment finishing at 9pm, promising an “unforgettable experience with a spectacular array of entertainment.”

Alongside the dazzling fireworks there will be circus performers and a dramatic fire show as well as food and drink accompanied by live music.

There are a limited number of tickets left available, costing £27.80.

Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd

The Pontypridd Big Bang is back for 2025 and claims to be bringing the biggest fireworks event to south Wales. At the Ynysangharad War Memorial Park there will be a fun fair, food trucks and fireworks on Saturday, November 1.

Gates open at 5pm with fireworks scheduled to start at 7pm. Money raised from the event will go towards the Pontypridd & Rhondda Roundtable, supporting local causes.

General admission tickets are £8.50 whilst a ticket for children under 13 costs £5.
