Jason Kelce pours his heart out in response to Eagles report on Jalen Hurts

If there is one voice of reason for the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce.

Sports Radio 94 WIP brought in Kelce for his weekly visit on the morning show, where he chimed in on Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn’s report of teammates being frustrated with Jalen Hurts. Kelce shared his thoughts on the matter.

“I think the quotes on Jalen, I think that there are frustrations within a team that build up continually and I think Jalen gets a lot of the highlighting of that, again, because he’s the quarterback.”

That was the response most people had on the matter, but it was his story about him and Lane Johnson that struck a chord with Kelce and the fan base. Kelce shared a story about Johnson and how one disagreement at the end of the Chip Kelly era almost ruined what is a great friendship.

“Lane made a comment in the media. Said something along the lines of, you know, we’re the up tempo offense is way too hard on us in practice and we’re working too difficult and the guys are getting fatigued. I remember reading that and I’m like, dude. And I said something in the media and said, ‘What does Lane know? Lane’s only been with the Philadelphia Eagles. How does he know what it feels like to do other practices? He’s only practiced with Chip Kelly. So, he’s saying something and parroting something from what other guys are saying. To be honest, I think we’re pretty pampered here in Philadelphia.’ And then Lane made another comment. Lane and I didn’t talk for an entire offseason. Lane is like one of my best friends. Like, I love that guy.”

Kelce brings some reality to the Eagles situation

That story certainly felt like a message to the Eagles players about how to fix things there. From A.J. Brown’s frustrations vented on a Twitch stream to reports on Hurts to DeSean Jackson’s comments that Brown and Hurts are not on great terms.

Kelce had a simple message for the team on how to resolve the issue, comparing it to being in a marriage.

“I hate seeing this and the only way out of this, and I mean this fully, and the only way: You talk to people. You be accountable. You try and work this out.”

It feels like it should all be good in Philly with an 8-2 record, but every day there is a new report or story that could tear the franchise apart. Eagles fans certainly hope the team hears Kelce’s message and resolves its issues before it derails the season.
