Tulane improved to 5-1 in the American with its 35-24 win over visiting Florida Atlantic last week, remaining in a group with Navy, North Texas, and East Carolina with one conference loss. The Green Wave never trailed in the game as Jake Retzlaff was 18-of-27 for 241 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while also running for a score. Jamauri McClure finished with 94 yards and a TD on 10 carries, and Jimmy Calloway had a touchdown run as well. Bryce Bohanon and Anthony Miller caught scoring passes with Isaiah Wadsworth, Jahiem Johnson, and Bailey Despainie logging interceptions.
Temple returns from a bye after two straight losses and still needs a win to reach bowl eligibility. The Owls’ last game was a 14-13 loss at Army on Nov. 8. Quarterback Evan Simon has thrown for 1,847 yards and 22 touchdowns with just one interception this season, while Jay Ducker powers the ground game with 729 yards and six scores. Kajiya Hollawayne, Jojo Bermudez, and Peter Clarke have four TD receptions apiece. Terrez Worthy leads the defense with four sacks, with Curly Ordonez making 63 tackles, 36 of them solo stops.
The Green Wave has won the last two meetings in the series, including a 52-6 win at home on Nov. 9, 2024, while Temple leads the series 4-3.
