The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team and Kansas Jayhawks clash in the next round of the 2025 Players Era Championship on Tuesday, November 25 (11/25/2025) at 3:30 p.m. ET. Syracuse will look to bounce back quickly after their loss in the first game against #3 Houston.

The Syracuse Orange (4-1) had six players score double-digit figures, including sophomore Tyler Betsey (16) in their frustrating loss to Houston to open the tournament. The Orange went toe-to-toe with a Top 5 team, forcing the game all the way into overtime for a 78-74 final score. The Orange officially has our attention.
Now they’ll see if they can keep it when they clash with the 4-2 Jayhawks on Tuesday. Kansas is coming off a 71-61 win over Notre Dame Fighting Irish and they’re playing without freshman Darryn Peterson (hamstring). But they’re still rolling: Flory Bidunga has stepped up big (16.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG) and veteran guard Tre White is averaging 14.3.
Other encouraging signs from the Orange included senior William Kyle III, who pulled down 10 rebounds, and a standout bench, which outscored Houston’s reserves 26-7.
On the newcomers front, Kyle III has been a beast inside (10.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.6 blocks per game so far) and freshman Kiyan Anthony is averaging 13.8 points, already hitting double figures in four of five games. Junior point guard Naithan George is running the show with 5.8 assists and 11.4 points per game.
The history between these two teams is rich, with the series split 3-3, and the last time they met (2017) Kansas came out on top. Their most memorable clash? The 2003 National Championship when Syracuse edged Kansas 81-78.
