A new partnership will see the popular supermarket brand make its first foray into digital retail media, placing large screens at shopfronts across the UK.
These screens will play a rotation of adverts designed to suit customers and to support their shopping experience.
Speaking on the savvy tech move Richard Bon, managing director at Bauer Media Outdoors (BMO), gushed about the amazing ways outdoor media can help people find products they love.
“Securing this exciting new partnership with Morrisons represents another significant moment for the role of out of home [media] in the wider UK retail media ecosystem.

ALL CHANGE
Morrisons rolls out major change after axing nearly 100 meat and fish counters
“With perfectly positioned screens at store entrances nationwide, we’re creating unmissable opportunities for brands to connect with millions of shoppers at the precise moment purchase decisions are being made.”
The project comes as a result of BMO securing a seven-year contract with Morrisons to install and operate a network of hundreds of Waferlite screens.
These screens were reportedly required back in September of this year from Amscreen.
Once constructed, the network will be sold jointly by BMO and Morrison’s full-service retail media agency, MMG.
The bold move comes as Morrisons has slowly but surely been creeping more and more into the tech world, rolling out digital labelling systems as well as a new delivery service – “Morrisons Now”
Morrisons Now is designed to bring fresh groceries to customers in just an hour.
The rapid shop-and-drop service will be available online to shoppers living near one of the 420 supermarkets participating in the scheme, with a mere service charge of £4.50.
Though at the moment it’s only up and officially operating in 158 stores.
Customers can order up to 30 items with a minimum order spent of £15 applying per transaction.
