SEATTLE — Black Friday is nearly here, and shoppers are once again faced with the question: which of their must-have stores are open, and when?
For nearly a decade, Thanksgiving Day shopping was a contentious issue, with stores like Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and Best Buy opening right after dinner for pre-Black Friday shopping, sparking debate among consumers. However, the trend reversed in 2020 due to the pandemic, and most retailers have since opted to remain closed on Thanksgiving, marking a significant change in holiday shopping traditions.
Although Thanksgiving Day is now given a little respite, Black Friday is still fair game – and draws huge crowds.
