Tara Reid Says She Was Drugged At Chicago Hotel Bar

A police investigation is officially underway following reports of a drugging incident involving actor Tara Reid at a Chicago-area hotel over the weekend.
The Rosemont Public Safety Department released a statement confirming that Reid had filed a police report on Tuesday regarding a medical emergency that had taken place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, at approximately 12:39 a.m. Sunday.
“The Rosemont Public Safety Department understands the severity of the allegations being reported and are committed to investigating this incident fully,” the statement read, according to the Chicago Sun-Times and other outlets. “At this point, we are in communication with the hotel to gather as much video surveillance as possible. As this incident has just been reported and is still open, no further information is available at this time.”
A representative for Reid, best known for her portrayal of Vicky Lathum in “American Pie,” didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment. However, the rep issued a statement Tuesday to E! News noting that Reid was “recovering” and had requested “privacy during this traumatic time.”
“She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone,” the statement continued. “She will not be making further comments at this stage.”

Reid, whose credits also include “Days of Our Lives” and “Sharknado,” was visiting the Chicago area ahead of her scheduled Sunday appearance at the Chicago Sports Spectacular alongside one of her “American Pie” co-stars, Thomas Ian Nicholas.
However, news of the alleged incident broke when TMZ posted a short video of Reid looking disoriented in the DoubleTree Hotel’s lobby as an unidentified man attempts to help her into a wheelchair. Later in the clip, she can be seen being removed from the hotel on a stretcher by paramedics.
In a separate interview with TMZ Tuesday, Reid said she’d ordered a glass of white wine from the hotel bar but briefly stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. When she returned to the bar, she noticed that a napkin had been placed over the top of the glass.
“Without even finishing my drink, I just, like, passed out, and before I knew it, I was in the hospital, eight hours later,” she recalled. “I can’t even explain it, because I don’t even know what happened.”
Reid said she regained consciousness in the hospital, where doctors informed her she’d been drugged, but did not divulge further specifics. She also noted that she was able to attend Chicago Sports Spectacular as scheduled after being released from the hospital.
“The whole thing is really scary. I’m just glad that I was in a public place … and that there was security there to help me,” she added.
