Tony Germano, veteran Brazilian voice actor, dies at 55 after fall

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Veteran Brazilian actor and voice artist Tony Germano has died at 55 after falling from the roof of his home, People reported.

According to local news outlets, Folha de Sao Paulo and O Estado de Sao Paulo, the accident happened Wednesday at his home in São Paulo, which was undergoing renovations. Germano slipped while checking repair work. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Germano built a three-decade career bridging stage, screen and dubbing work, his powerful voice brought Portuguese-language versions of animated and live-action shows on streaming platforms to life. His credits included series for Netflix, Nickelodeon and Disney, People said.

Beyond voice acting, Germano was a musical-theater performer with roles in productions including “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Miss Saigon” and “Jekyll & Hyde.” His recent on-screen appearances included the 2025 film “Labyrinth of Lost Boys” and 2023’s “An Unforgettable Year: Autumn.”

His voice credits included characters in Netflix’s “Go, Dog, Go!” and Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” as well as roles in Disney productions such as “Elena of Avalor” and “The Muppets.” He also contributed to the Brazilian dubbing of the 2017 live-action “Beauty and the Beast.”

According to E! News, a memorial service was held Thursday at the Bosque da Paz Cemetery in Vargem Grande Paulista, where friends, family and colleagues gathered to pay respects to a career that resonated far beyond Brazil.
