Iowa (7-0) returns to Carver-Hawkeye Arena for a Sunday date as the Hawkeyes welcome in Fairfield (4-1).

The 14th-ranked Iowa women’s basketball team enters after dispatching of Western Illinois in convincing fashion, 86-69, last Wednesday. Freshman guard Addie Deal scored a career- and team-high 17 points for Iowa off the Hawkeyes’ bench.

Deal knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and 7-of-10 shots from the field.

Iowa is dealing with a trio of injury absences. Sophomore guards Chit-Chat Wright and Teagan Mallegni and sophomore wing Emely Rodriguez each missed Iowa’s win against Western Illinois. Wright has been dealing with an upper-body injury dating back to Iowa’s trip to the WBCA Showcase in Orlando, Fla.

Per Hawkeye Radio Network’s Rob Brooks, Mallegni had her tonsils removed on Monday and Rodriguez is battling a back issue.

“Emely is day-to-day and Chit-Chat is still day-to-day. I do see improvement when I see her walking around. And Teagan will probably be about a week,” Jensen said of the injured trio after Iowa’s win over Western Illinois.
