The operation, performed by Dr. Dan Cooper with the Jaguars’ team physician, Dr. Kevin Kaplan, confirmed that there was no additional damage, and imaging earlier had shown that his ACL remained intact. The injury was isolated to the LCL, a crucial stabilizing structure on the outer portion of the knee.
Medical projections place his full return to football activities at approximately six months post-surgery. This estimated schedule puts him back on the field around May 2026, aligning him with the lead-up to the 2026 training camp. The Jaguars later clarified he would not return this year, as reported by PFSN’s Nicolas Curry.
Curry added that the Jaguars have shifted their passing-game structure without Hunter, with Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers emerging as Trevor Lawrence’s primary targets. At the same time, the team also manages Brian Thomas Jr.’s injury situation.
