Watford have been on a five-match undefeated streak to climb into promotion contention, with only league leaders Coventry City beating them in their past seven.
Is that what the club were hoping to see when they sacked former boss Paulo Pezzolano to bring Javi Gracia back into the fold?
Honestly, it’s difficult to know what the powers that be at Watford are thinking but one thing is for sure – if the Hornets win at the fortress of St Andrew’s, the Spaniard is definitely working some magic.
It’ll announce the side as a true Championship threat and Gracia believes there’s even more to come from his men.
“The players are doing a great effort at working a lot, showing the spirit we need to compete well,” Gracia told BBC 3CR.
“At this moment, my responsibility is to try to find a way with this effort, with this attitude, with this spirit, to improve the level of the team.
“In my opinion, we have good qualities, individual qualities. We have to create a more competitive team and that’s my job.”
