Alex Golesh adding key defensive staffer from USF

In less than a calendar year, Brad Wilson is going from FCS defensive coordinator to FBS assistant coach and now to the sport’s top conference, the SEC.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Wilson, the former Indiana State defensive coordinator, is joining Alex Golesh’s inaugural Auburn Tigers staff as a defensive assistant.
Wilson follows Golesh from USF, where he was hired earlier this year to help coach the Bulls’s linebackers.
These moves come after an enduring run at Indiana State. There, Wilson joined the Sycamores staff in 2017 as a defensive assistant, eventually climbed to the defensive coordinator role and by 2023 also had been named assistant head coach.
Auburn hired Golesh Sunday morning, snatching him away from both his current residency at USF as well as beating Arkansas to the deal after the Razorbacks last week had offered their job to Golesh and entered into negotiations with him, numerous sources confirmed to FootballScoop.
The Tigers fired Huge Freeze last month amidst a disappointing season that was closed at 5-7 after Saturday night’s fourth-quarter loss to rival Alabama in the ‘Iron Bowl.’
