Prince Andrew’s Christmas Plans After Being Uninvited From King Charles’ Holiday

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is having a blue Christmas after his titles were stripped away. The former Prince is spending the holiday alone, but it won’t be in an unfamiliar place.

Royal sources dished to The Sunday Times that the disgraced Prince and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were uninvited from King Charles‘ traditional Christmas celebration in Sandringham for the second year in a row. A source close to the monarch told The Sunday Times, “You can’t sack someone from being your brother. But this year, if the duke and duchess were both to be as honourable [as last year], it would be very much for the best and the family would not be disappointed, not least to avoid the King having to make any more difficult decisions.”

Andrew was not invited to the Christmas dinner in 2024 either and stayed in Windsor. He won’t be spending the holidays in his new pad in Sandringham as new reports indicate that Andrew’s eviction from his longtime home, the Royal Lodge, has been delayed to February 2026. Sources reveal that the delay is due to Andrew’s struggle to downsize from his 31-room mansion. “He has a large house where he has lived for a long time, and he will be moving into a more modest house so, logically, it won’t happen this side of Christmas,” a source told The Sun.

Controversy podcast creator John McDermott told GB News that though Andrew is moving to King Charles’ private Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, he won’t be living a hard life.

“I think some people picture him living in a cave somewhere,” McDermott said. “The reality is more nuanced. His public life is gone, his world has shrunk dramatically, but he’ll still be living on an estate and has access to comfort.”

“It’s not Alcatraz,” McDermott added. “It’s a very specific kind of isolation—private, restricted, but still cushioned.”

In the meantime, King Charles would prefer that his brother and Sarah Ferguson remain “invisible” when possible, using private entrances and exits amid the public fallout, according to The Times.

“The King is not of the mind to banish someone worshipping at church or attending family occasions like a funeral,” the outlet reported. “But he would hope they would find a more discreet way of attending these events. In the Duke of York’s case, he seems to relish the prospect of not being low-key about it.”
