Ohio State Coach Emerging as Potential Favorite for Big Ten Rival

The Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for a massive showdown on Saturday evening against the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten championship game. Heading into the game, Ohio State finds itself as the No. 1 ranked team in the country. Indiana, on the other hand, holds the nation’s No. 2 overall ranking.
To say that this game is highly-anticipated would be a major understatement.
For Ryan Day and company, it’s an opportunity to send a clear statement ahead of the College Football Playoff. As the Buckeyes search to win their second straight national championship, a win over the Hoosiers would make it clear that they’re still clearly the team to beat.

While all focus remains on the upcoming challenge against Indiana, a current Ohio State coach is starting to surge as a potential favorite to land the head coaching position with a Big Ten rival.
According to Kalshi, Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator Brian Hartline has risen to having a 24 percent chance to become the next head coach at Penn State. The only candidate given a better chance is Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, who has a 38 percent chance of landing with the Nittany Lions.
Hartline has done a fantastic job this season as Ohio State’s offensive coordinator. He also holds the wide receivers coach position for the Buckeyes and has excelled in that role for years with the program.
Losing him would be a tough blow for Ohio State’s future.
Penn State has been searching for a new head coach since making the midseason decision to move on from James Franklin. As for Franklin, he has already landed with Virginia Tech and has been steadily poaching recruits away from the Nittany Lions.

In order to steady the ship, the Nittany Lions need to figure out who their next head coach is going to be soon. With Hartline currently focused on the Big Ten championship and the upcoming College Football Playoff run, discussing the Penn State coaching job could be difficult. However, as fans have seen with Lane Kiffin, these things happen.
Expect to hear more news about hardline and the Nittany Lions’ head coaching search in the near future. For now, he remains a very serious candidate for the job.
