Former Cowboys Cheerleaders choreographer Criscilla Anderson dies of colon cancer

Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders choreographer Criscilla Anderson has died of colon cancer. She was 45.

“If you’re reading this, I’ve finally slipped into the arms of Jesus — peacefully and surrounded by love,” Anderson wrote in an Instagram statement, posted by a friend this week. “I fought hard and I loved deeply. I am not gone … I’m home.”

Anderson appeared on the Cowboys cheer squad’s former CMT reality show Making The Team in 2021, teaching a routine during training camp.

“I am currently fighting Stage 4 colon cancer,” Anderson told the dancers then. “When I say tomorrow’s not promised, it really isn’t. You guys have such an amazing opportunity to fulfill a dream.”

As a dancer, Anderson also worked with artists Britney Spears, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg.

In 2018, Anderson received a terminal prognosis, according to a Nov. 15 health update on her Instagram. She recently suffered from a stroke and had received an MRI scan showing the cancer’s spread.

Her ex-husband, country singer Coffey Anderson, with whom she co-parented four children, paid tribute to her on Tuesday. The two starred in a Netflix show about their lives, Country Ever After, that ran for one season in 2020.

“We miss you already. Our hearts are shattered. Our minds are jumbled. Our lives will never be the same. The babies are resilient and strong as ever. We did good with them,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

“So, dance your heart out on the beach in heaven.”
