South Carolina firing offensive coordinator Mike Shula

Too much talent. Too few points.

Not remotely enough wins

Mike Shula’s run of disappointment as offensive coordinator for Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks program has been encapsulated by all those elements.

Shula’s tenure has also been ended after South Carolina’s latest loss, sources tell FootballScoop.

Beamer parts with his offensive play-caller less than 11 months after naming Shula to the top offensive assistant post and awarding him a three-year deal worth approximately $3.5 million across its term.

Shula filled the role vacated by Dowell Loggains, who left as Gamecocks offensive coordinator to become head coach at Appalachian State.

The Gamecocks, trendy preseason picks, are trying to avoid a losing season.
