TikTokers create viral Starbucks ‘Bearista’ dupes
Starbucks’ “Bearista” appears to have quickly sold out around the country, so fan are trying to find creative dupes for the viral cup.
Starbucks is teasing the comeback of its viral Bearista Cold Cup on Monday, Dec. 8 – but didn’t release very many details.
On Sunday, Nov. 7, Starbucks posted a video to Instagram featuring the sold-out Bearista Cup that people have been trying to get their hands on.
“Your chance is in the Starbucks app. Tomorrow, 12/8,” the coffeehouse chain said.
USA TODAY staffers checked the Starbucks app on Dec. 8 and as of 7:30 a.m. ET, no further information regarding the cup was available.

Frustration and excitement in the comment section
Starbucks fans shared their excitement in the comment section, but others were frustrated by the lack of information.
“Context would be nice,” said one user, whose comment received 314 likes and 49 replies.
Others complained about checking the app on Dec. 12, after midnight and still not seeing any information regarding the cup.
“12 midnight PST rn and I don’t see anything in the app,” wrote one commenter.
“FIX YOUR APP!!!!! IT IS NOT WORKING,” wrote another.
Despite the lack of information, other users were excited about the release.
“I need that bear cup,” commented one person. “Keeping it exciting!! I love it!” commented another.
What is the Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup?
The Bearista cup is a 20-ounce glass cup shaped like a bear. Its lid looks like a green beanie, and it is holding a Starbucks cup with the chain’s logo on it.
The cup was released on Thursday, Nov. 6, the same day that Starbucks unveiled its holiday menu, and sold out immediately.
Now, the cups have been reselling online for hundreds of dollars, USA TODAY previously reported. Others are searching for dupes or DIYing their own versions of the bear cup.
Will the Starbucks Bearista Cold Cup be restocked?
It’s unclear if Starbucks is restocking the Bearista Cold Cup or if it’s part of a larger promotion. Some fans are speculating that the Bearista cup could be a prize for the Starbucks for Life Merrython game, which Rewards Members can start playing Dec. 8. As of 7:30 a.m., the game did not appear to be available on the app.
USA TODAY has reached out to Starbucks for more details.
In a previous statement made in November, the chain confirmed that the Bearista cup sold out.
“The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations, and despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast,” Starbucks said.
