Utah State and Washington State to clash in Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

The 29th Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will feature Utah State from the Mountain West and Washington State from the Pac-12 Conference. The game is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 22, at Albertsons Stadium on the Boise State University campus, with kickoff at noon MT. The event will be broadcast on ESPN, and tickets are available at famousidahopotatobowl.com or through the Boise State Athletics Ticket Office.

Danielle Brazil, executive director of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, expressed enthusiasm for the matchup, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to bring these two incredible programs to Boise to host a 29th edition of our game.” She added that the event celebrates college football and Idaho Potatoes on a national stage.

Utah State (6-6, 4-4 MW) is making its sixth appearance in the bowl, the most by any school. The Aggies have a 6-11 all-time bowl record and are playing in the postseason for the fourth time in five years. Washington State (6-6) is appearing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl for the first time, with an 8-11 all-time bowl record.

Key players for Utah State include John Miller, a first-team All-Mountain West selection, and Bryson Barnes, a second-team All-MW honoree. Washington State is led by senior wide receiver Joshua Meredith and senior safety Tucker Large. The matchup serves as a preview of future conference opponents, as Washington State remains in the Pac-12 and Utah State joins the league in 2026.
